Running like a dog

How can something run like a dog?
I hear people say '.... runs like a dog', but what does it mean? Is it bad to run like a dog? They are quicker than us, as the local postie can verify.

Answers on a postcard.

Promotion

I play 2ndXI hockey for Sutton Coldfield Hockey Club and guess what, we've just been assured promotion to Midlands Div 1 league. Woohoo!!! Been an ever present 'marking centre-back' for them, and just glad that the few costly errors that I've made hasn't cost us promotion.

Next stop is to win the league :D

Court Session

Well, Uni league hockey season is over and to celebrate the men's and women's team had a court session at the SU on weds. We all went as some form of service. I went dressed as a soldier while others went as cowboys, pirates, firemen and nurses.

Due to the absense of captains and vice-captains of both teams, myself and kev were incharge of fining and getting all the blokes wasted, while Jo fined all the women on her own. Was a good night actually, everyone got really drunk altho some more than others. This namely would be Steph, who took it on herself to drink someone elses mucky pint. Fair play to the girl, although she was a bit ropey after and ended up goin home early.

After a wicked night's drinkin I ended up stayin in Steph's kitchen, as I met up with some of her mates at the SU and was given the chairs to sleep on. Didn't mind this atall, as they are really comfortable, and in my condition I wud av slept on hot coals.
When I got up the next mornin, I was definately still drunk and my head was spinning a little. Then, at about 9, Steph walks into the kitchen all chirpy as if she's had the perfect nights sleep and not even a sniff of shandy. Not fair really :P

Think I've gone at put my foot in it with the rugby boys, as on the bus in the mornin, I was chatting to Suz and said that the rugby team were anti-social for locking themselves in a room every week to do a court session. Little did I know that one was sitting right infront of me, so now I'm sure to get dragged in and severly fined at their next court session.

My housemate rich tried to spoil their fun a bit on one of their previous court sessions by telling the girls not to give the rugby lads their bra's. He was dragged in and stripped naked, and then just for good measure another 4 Hockey players were captured too, so who knows what will happen to me.

Only in America

Had not alot to do while doing my 5hr a week shift at Aimhigher, so I was wandering around the internet and went to MSN.com. On there i found an article about DNA testing for a cat murder. Sounded really bizarre so i decided to read on. (couldn't find original article to show, but found something on the CNN website for you too look at).

Basically, this womans cat had been killed by a dog, and she was upset enough to be cryin under a tree with cat in arms for 2 hrs (aww). She then vowed revenge on the canine miscrient who mangled her poor moggy, cody. She started by examining the crime scene for clues, and found several golden hairs.
After taking her cat to the vet to confirm that it had been killed by a dog, she then scoured her local neighbourhood for any sign of a a golden dog. After accusing the dog of murder, she went to the relevant authorities (there are authorities for this apparently) and tried to get the dog punished. The officials said their wasn't enough evidence, the cat owner turned to moonlighting as a CSI detective and set about trying to get DNA testing.
The young pup's owners gave saliva samples to the courts, which proved to be a match. The moggy lover then decided to get the dog declared dangerous.

Unfortunately, cody hasn't been avenged as the case has been thrown out after 5 months of legal proceedings because there were no witnesses to this terrible crime.

Only in America.

Pool Champion

At last, 7-balled someone. Herman was my victim as I beat him 10-6 overall yesterday. Gotta get Rich now as he has 7-balled me twice (I think).
For anyone who doesn't know, 7-balling someone is when you pot all your balls and the black without your oppenent potting any.
Sorry Herman.

Good Intentions

Like the dedecated student I pretend to be, I've stopped an extra week at uni to try and make some headway on my final year project. At uni we have access to online journal facilities, so I can go to the library and download loads of useful information.

I, however, also meant to start developing my deliverable, but due my incurable laziness disease, I manage to sleep in till atleast 12 every day and do not much of anything else.
Its difficult keeping to the schedule tho, when you set time out to do something, because I often find now that I work best under pressure (deadlines looming), or by chance. But when I just try to be good, all fails.

Not got much to show for this week apart from a few screen designs and a bit of research, ach.

Free at last

Well not really free, but i've been given a little more slack on the chain. Its been hectic for the last 2 months, so much have been going on, so here goes.

First of all i'm now a year older, become an old man at 22. Played hockey for uni during the day, we beat Harper Adams 17-0 or something stupid like that. I scored 2 and set up about 8 other goals. Unfortunately, one of the girls got hit on the finger by a stick during the game, which nearly amputated it. Was not a pretty sight, but she's gonna be ok. Although i've now learnt that she's left uni for this year and might be starting again next year.
Anyway, after the match I went out to walsall on the night with the mens and womens hockey team and got very beveraged (thanks to rich, adam and kev's gettin me a treat on the drinkin games), was a great night all round.

Since then i've had shed loads of assignments to do, and have only just completed them now. This included writin one peice of software in a group, 2 essays, a presentation and 'refactoring' another program. Which was all very very fun and i'm very disappointed that I don't have as much work to do anymore. Might have to force myself to go out again.

Got beveraged again on saturday aswell, went to my hockey club (not uni) xmas dinner. I play 2nd XI and we are a bunch of alcoholics. Played drinkin games all night, and i was weights and measures chairman. Basically, any fineable offence that occurs, I decide how many fingers that person drinks. Foolish josh for stealin my xmas pudding.
